R E Q U E S T S

Sometimes, you just need a little something from home—and this is just the place to get it. Players can request items from their home worlds here, which will appear onboard after the next jump. Most items will be allowed on board with no problems, but handheld superweapons, mystical artifacts, and other similarly-powered items may need their power reduced before they can be approved. In addition, Ataraxion does not allow items from other game worlds. Requested items should be from characters' home worlds only.

Items should not be requested in preparation for specific plots or events. We cannot give out weapons advance of a plot where weapons would be necessary, and this extends to all other plot types such as requesting alcohol or clothes for a party. Please use alternative routes, such as existing resources and character skills on board the ship to achieve these items - if this is not possible, please discuss the matter directly with us.

An unpleasant item may be gruesome, grotesque, supernatural, or distressing. It may also cause them injury, or injury to the other possessions in their locker, so please be aware of that when signing up. Items will not be canon-based: they will be assigned randomly from a pre-decided list, but players are free to also request items from home as per the usual. To avoid over-saturation, the assignments will also include notice of the jump when the item will appear (optimally within three months of the sign-up.)

Canon updates & backdates should also be requested through this page.

All requests come into effect in game with the Tranquility's jumps. As such we hold a cut-off date of midnight, 5th of each month for you to have your requests processed for the next jump - any requests submitted past this time will be deferred for the next month. Even beyond this, while it is generally the case that item requests will come into effect on the jump immediately following the request being submitted, we may also stagger arrival to a different jump. Please contact us if this causes any difficulty.

PLEASE NOTE newly accepted characters cannot receive item requests until the second month after their arrival!

How will this affect your character?

this is a small canon update, bringing connor forward from the end of series four to the beginning of series five. since the end of series four was such a turning point for connor, especially with philip and prospero industries, this update will allow him to move a little further along the timeline with regards to his work on anomalies—including getting his own private lab, a new "assistant" (april leonard), and believing that he's genuinely doing a good thing by trying to harness energy for philip and his green energy plan for the world. unfortunately, it's drawn him slightly away from abby as well as the rest of the group; he's focusing more on the convergence theory rather than helping deal with creature incursions, which he feels guilty about. in this episode, he signs a non-disclosure agreement, even though he doesn't want to keep secrets from abby; this starts leading him down a darker and more complicated path. on the tranquility, he'll be prone to more secret-keeping and lying, while also continuing work on potentially nasty plot things. the end!

How will this affect your character?

WELL, at the end of angel (the tv series, anyway) wes dies by getting stabbed in the gut by a member of the circle of the black thorn, just before the apocalypse. so that's fun! he actually survives, in a way, as a link to the senior partners in the comic book continuation, but i'll be canon-updating him to just before that point—so he'll remember dying, and he'll remember illyria/fred etc., but he won't remember turning into a ghost due to wolfram & hart's standard perpetuity clause. it's technically only a three-episode update, but essentially, this allows him to experience a kind of closure, which is probably a good thing after the silent hill plot. not that it'll help much. but still!

How will this affect your character? Not much particularly changes for Haymitch. He's still drunk, he's still ornery, but there's a sense of 'completeness' now. The Capitol's fallen, there are no more Games, and everything is peaceful to a certain degree- however, this means that coming back to the Tranquility will push him towards more dramatic action in causing a mutiny and with nothing back home to distract him, he can devote his attention fully to his goals on the ship, especially now that he's come off one successful rebellion.

Intended Purpose: Rather than the ship providing these, this is a list of technologies that Guide has been working on since opening his laboratory. The wires can be adapted virtually any piece of equipment that doesn't rely on superconductors, and can be custom-grown to the preferred gauge. Fresh, soft chitin can be used in kludges as duct tape would be, with the added bonus of self-repair. The silk is more of a product to prove that he can make things that are immediately useful, such as silk yarn or thread, but it may also be used as a forming material for the chitin to grow around.

The human retrovirus is, at this point, essentially RNA extracted from gene samples in medical. The next few months will be spent modifying it into a means to prevent the more drastic changes brought on by his feedings.

As for the air AC unit and the mood lighting, they're just for his personal comfort.

Intended Purpose: Xyens are relatively harmless species that Moniz has captured in past adventures, and successfully returned to its rightful dimension. About the size of a small cat, they have excellent hearing and can use it to pick up, interpret and use sounds to map out their surroundings. Many times a xyen will be able to make its way out of any labyrinthine layout. They're curious but moody creatures with a varied diet - from fruits to insects - and, whenever this one is done hiding in the air vents, it will most likely approach other passengers in hopes of receiving food and a little attention. Be careful when you're picking it up, though - they hide a very sharp, very painful sting in that fluffy tail that will be used to let people know it's done with your shenanigans.

AS FOR THE ACTUAL PURPOSE, it will be the first in hopefully a long running series of creatures showing up in Moniz's locker for him to identify, track down and capture before they cause more chaos than necessary. They should be no bigger than this xyen, and pose no greater threat than being a little gross and painful to those who come too near. Each will go back after its first (and only) month in space is up!
